| Art is a major part of the A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center's programming and while we occasionally exhibit art of established and exceptional Zuni artists we also work to support emerging Zuni artists at all levels. Contact the AAMHC if you have a concept for exhibiting art made by emerging Zuni artists.
Water is very much a part of A:shiwi life. The Spring 2006 exhibition of K'yawe ~ water, was a compilation of selected first through fourth grade two-dimensional art representing the four elementary schools in Zuni. The artists' creations reflected the joy, respect, and appreciation of water and the AAMHC was pleased to support these emerging young artists with their own show. The style and method of art including minor smudges and tears has been maintained as part of the character of the young artist's work. |
